About

The steep technical section of a trail run, 50 degree no-fall zone on a ski line, or class V rapid are the adrenaline pinnacles of a mountain adventure.  Focus, strength, and skill are your guides to carry you through safely.  To arrive at these moments requires strong endurance and fitness.  This is the Mountain Athlete approach, a combo of strength training to prepare you for those critical moments, coupled with traditional endurance training required for any activity in the mountains.

Traditional mountain athletes you'll see on podiums are super lean, covering long distances and big climbs at incredible speeds.  At Mountain Athlete we train for endurance, but couple in a healthy dose of strength and hypertrophy into our programs too.

About Me
Tyler Blake

I grew up in the flat suburbs of Chicago—about as far from mountains as you can get. One trip to Colorado as a teenager was all it took. I packed up, moved West after high school, and put down roots in 2008. Since then, I’ve been fully committed to treating Colorado like the world-class playground it is. From riding the Triple Bypass to standing on all 58 fourteeners and chasing backcountry ski lines, my appetite for adventure hasn’t slowed down—it’s only grown. Now, I’m focused on building and expanding a community of like-minded outdoor athletes who live for the climb, the grind, and the days that push us a little further.
